Program Schedule for Junior Sail Program

June 8- sign up, brief discussion of course overview and expectations, read through book to go
over water safety clubhouse
June 22- learn about parts of the boat, basics (get in/out, sail trim, and capsizing and righting)
all on land or clubhouse depending on weather
July 19- team building activity, review basics on land, those comfortable sail with assistance
July 27- Practice with assistance tying up boat, sailing on the water
August 3- Begin class by learning how to tie a barrel knot, then next hour practice on the water
assisting those who still need help
August 10- Begin class by reviewing how to tie a barrel knot, then again practice on the water
August 17- Begin class by learning how to tie a Bowline knot, then sail
September 7- Review the Bowline knot, then sail
September 14-Team activities, sail, picnic
